[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Name change reflects military marketing company’s modern set of capabilities while maintaining its strong military heritage.
PITTSBURGH, April 18, 2018. Victory Media announced that it has changed its name to VIQTORY. Well known by many for its print magazines and military web sites, VIQTORY’S expertise in digital media, advertising technology and data utilization have rapidly evolved over the last several years.
The lines between media, agency and technology companies have blurred. The company has leveraged these new capabilities to create incredible efficiency in connecting the military community to civilian opportunity through its extensive digital and physical media infrastructure. The name change accurately reflects VIQTORY’S current capabilities.
“I am so excited about this new chapter in our company’s history; one that is already enabling us to leverage technology and data to bring civilian opportunities to our nation’s veterans in a more efficient fashion,” said Mike Stevens, VIQTORY’S Chief Executive and retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. “We are on the cutting edge of streamlining the military to civilian transition.”
VIQTORY was founded in 2001 by three Navy veterans, who named it for its military focus and the “V” symbol for “Victory” that was popularized by the Greatest Generation of World War II veterans.
“The Greatest Generation of World War II ushered in an era of American prominence. We consider Post 9/11 veterans to be the modern version of the Greatest Generation. They are simply the best our country has to offer and they bring incredible value to the civilian organizations they join after service,” said Stevens. “Our company was founded in 2001 on this fundamental belief that veterans are better off for their service. That belief is as strong now as it has ever been.”
“We sought a name that retained the connection to our rich military heritage. But we wanted to more accurately reflect our service expansion beyond media, so dropping ‘media’ in our name made sense. The ‘IQ’ spelling indicates our use of smart data and technology to deliver measurable value to veterans and the civilian organizations providing opportunity to them. Finally, the horizontal line, known as a vinculum, was added over ‘IQ’ in the logo to show that the two letters are to be connected and to symbolize VIQTORY’S role as connective tissue between the military and civilian worlds. VIQTORY was a perfect blend of all of these goals,” said Chris Hale, VIQTORY’S chairman and co-founder.
